A new picture of an old original species. Kali drew the sketch, I colored it in.

This creature is known as a Tial: "dream eaters" that feed on the dreams of humans. During the day they communicate with one another via ultrasonic sounds, and by night they feed. While feeding a Tial will fall into a trance-like state as its spirit flits among the world below. The Tials themselves live within the "dreamplane", a layer of existence that lies above the living world.

The appearance of a Tial depends upon the dreams it has eaten. Dreams that are filled with happiness and warmth will give a Tial a kindly and pleasant appearance. However, if a Tial feeds on nightmares it will take on a dark and cold look. Those that feed on only the worst of nightmares are a horrible sight: they look as though they are decaying. Tials have even been known to rot away from eating too many nightmares.

Also, Tials have familiars: small, fairy-like critters that hover around a Tial (and not visible in this picture because I'm lazy). They take on a certain appearance at a Tial's birth and never change as time goes on.

This is another collab between =ScytheDragon and myself. ^^ She drew the sketch for me, and I colored it in. I really need to get back into art in general, so this was a nice warm-up. Enjoy!
